backup file larger than 2Gbytes on splat r55

Hi all,

I created a backup on ng ai r55, but as the generated file
is larger 
than 2Gbs, I really have some difficulties to
use the revert command from this.

As the backup contains also the whole cdrom image (shame on
me), I tried 
to reduce the size.

after having reduced the archive size, the revert command
worked fine, 
but I only have a "GRUB" prompt when I boot.

hopefully, I tried on a vmware, so nothing was broken.

Has anyone ever tried to work with big backups on ng R55, or
on latest 
versions ?

Are you using snapshot  ???
Did you deleted the logs and possible old backups ???

If i remember, the medium size of the backup is less than
700 MB ( if you're
using cp snapshot).

could you please rerun the hfa install with sh -x and put
the output ?

I have seen this in cases where people have installed the
wrong IPSO 
package. We had an engineer installing the diskless packages
on all 
Nokia's but those do not allow one to install HFA's.

To remedy the issue you have to export the config if it is a
standalone 
firewall. Remove the incorrect version and install the Nokia
version using

reset the SIC on the SmartCenter.

But make sure you use the right software version for the

installation or you get burned again.

Been there, done that, fixed one. Let the guilty engineer
fix all the 
other ones.

And if these short instructions are not enough for you I
recommend you 
hire someone who does know Nokia based firewalls instead of
trying to do 
this yourself.
