Hi Guys,

We're having endless problems with our hardware and RHEL 3
and SecurePlatform (Our HW is actually in the HCL and the
HCL CD confirms this???).

Has anyone managed to get Checkpoint to run on any other
platform? For example the latest CentOS or any newer version
of RHEL? As far as I can tell, only RHEL 3 upd 5 is
supported, right?

Thanks

Running a SmartCenter on Centos 5 is peanuts. A few
backward
compatibility libraries will take care of that.

But the gateway needs to integrate into the kernel. And that
will not
work with a fundamentaly different kernel. And from the last
coffee
session we had with Check Point Q&A it was not even on
their list.

So Check Point will for quite a while do some backports of
drivers to
support the newer hardware with the older kernel.

Did you keep up with HFA's? SPLAT HFA's also fixes
compatibility issues.
They are not always that clearly documented.

Hugo.

As far as I know there is only one HFA for R65 and that came
out just a few days ago. I read through the Release note and
nothing was mentioned about fixing wierd problems with Intel
/ HP NIC's But,
hell I can try and install it and see what happens.

Thanks

I'm running r65 on a inhouse built server for about the time
it was
realased on CentOS 3 laster update (I do yum update from
time to time on
it) and I don't have any issues with it.
