Checkpoint is selling "Firefly" with great
performance. However, I look at the
product and it is quite expensive, 27k for the box, software
and 3 years
subscription and support. I look at the hardware and found
out that it is IBM
3650 Servers.
Does it mean if I buy IBM Servers 3650 and load SPLAT NGx 65
on it I will get
the same performance? I can get IBM Servers 3650 at a great
price and with
the support from IBM, software subscription, support and
license from
checkpoint, it comes about to be about 19k per box.
Furthermore, I can
get quad-core processors instead of dual-core processors
from "firefly".
Are these the same? Thanks.
