Error installing R55 on Nokia IP500

Let me first thank everyone for all your valuable
suggestions. Managed to solve the problem.

I was trying on IP530. Tried installation after downloading
a new wrapper, did a checksum on it, tried doing it manually
with binary ON using gunzip/tar cmds, checked the
wrapper.elg file under /opt/CPInstlog, tried installing old
fp3 wrapper, changing cross cable, new ftp server, etc....

Finally got a new IP530 which also gave the same error. Now
all Nokia's cant have the same problem.

Then of the 512Mb RAM i removed 1 256Mb module & to my
surprise CP installation went through. Got a new 256Mb
module & then there were no problems. As of now the box
is working fine.

You say Nokia IP500 - do you mean the new IP560?  If so,
then it is
important to note that the IP560 is a flash-based (diskless)
system
which cannot use the standard installation wrappers. 
Instead, the
package for flash based platforms (available for download
from Check
Point's site) must be used.

Otherwise, see others' previous recommendations regarding
using ftp
binary mode and running md5sum against the file.

We were trying to install IPSO wrapper R55 on Nokia running
IPSO 3.7.
IPSO 3.7 was a fresh install. We were just not able to
install R55 using
the newpkg cmd & got the below msg:

Do you want to download IPSO_wrapper_R55.tgz ?  ['yes
(default)' or 'no'
or 'exit']:

Processing package IPSO_wrapper_R55.tgz ...

Error: IPSO_wrapper_R55.tgz is not a valid tar file!



We tried installing FP3 but the same msg also downloaded a
new pkg from
CP but the msg persists.



After rebooting the Nokia at times we got the below msg:
