Eventia Reporter consolidation session error

Hello,

I have this customer who has everything running SPLAT R62
(multiple gateways
and a SmartCenter also running Eventia Reporter), recently
he noticed a
message saying there was no active consolidation session on
the Reporter, so
he tried to start the current one and it kept aborting, so
he removed it and
tried to initiate a new one, but an error message is coming
back and the new
session does not start either. The error says:

Error: failed to to get password for connection RT_Database,
reason:
Connection failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server
through socket
'/opt/CPrt-R62/svr/Database/mysql.sock' (111)

I looked for that on the documentation and the
SecureKnowledge with no luck,
has anybody seen it before?

Any help will be very appreciated.

Sorry if this is not a specific solution, but try
re-installing the
Eventia Reporter (after backup). I've had many consolidation
issues
and my local support could not get grip on what was going on
but
re-installation always solve them.

This means that for some reason the mysql server that
Eventia uses is 
not started. You can look through the scripts and see how
it's started 
and try a manual start of the server. Basically you should
be looking 
for an invocation of mysqld or mysqld_safe.

I guess I'll see if I can manage to start mysqld, as Sin
suggest, otherwise
will most likely reinstall the Reporter.
