make freezes my server

  Are you using the subversion sources?  If so, it might be
because of
  the automake version. I had a few problems due a Automake
problem
  with some conditional compilation rules that Cherokee
uses.  If you
  aren't using Automake 1.9, I'd suggest you to update it.
It has been
  a quite long time since a suffered that bug though.

no, I always install stable releases, as for now, 0.5.2,
before that 0.5.1 etc. It seems to freeze
for first time only anyway. I still use OpenBSD 3.8
