Hi everybody,
I've just finished first beta release of my web-based
application -
Intronet (http://intronet.sf.net/).
It is my one-person school project
at university. After a long time of decision making I've
chosen python
and cherrypy for it. And now I can say it was a really good
choice.
May be someone would be interested in the project so a few
words about it.
Intronet is a light weighted framework which allows user to
work with
remote Linux system and to do some administration tasks
using web
browser. It's fully usable in browsers at mobile devices
(pda, modern
cell phones, etc.). Intronet also provides easy access to
other web
applications (e.g. webmail, calendar, etc.).
So with all this you can have your pc easily accessible
everywhere and
everytime you need. You can access your documents, e-mails,
administrate your system, upload files into system and much
more.
For more information check Intronet homepage (http://intronet.sf.net/)
where you can download the first release or check Intronet
user's
manual.
I don't know anything about python and cherrpy before
project so
beginnings were really hard to me. So be a little patient if
someone
of you find my sources not so good. I've tried my best and
I'm so
proud of my interactive shell simulation . I also
know (from my
supervisor - i get mark B for this project ) that I
really bad
implement File system module. Unfortunatelly I don't have
time for
next several months to rewrite it. But Intronet is fully
usable with
some limitations.
Great thanks to all developers of cherrypy for really great
work! I'm
looking forward to creating my another cherrypy app in the
future.
