SUMMARY:
There has always been a struggle to find the balance between ease of use
and flexibility. Some tools allow you to quickly and easily build web
sites as long as you do everything their way. Others give you enough
rope to hang yourself and even help you do it. Somewhere there must
exist a web application framework that is both easy to use and powerful.
Grails is just that and more. Grails allows you to use powerful and
established tools such as Spring, Hibernate, SiteMesh and Prototype
without even knowing that you're using them. You can create a complete
CRUD application, literally, in minutes. Then when you need to do more
the power of the underlying tools is right at your fingertips.
In this presentation we will cover the installation and setup of Grails
(don't blink, you might miss it) then we'll build a fully functional web
application from design to deployment.
