DESCRIPTION:
Apache Lucene is a high-performance, full-featured,
lightning fast search engine library written entirely in
Java. Lucene does not care about the source of the data, its
format, or even its language, as long as you can convert it
to text. This means you can use Lucene to index and search
data stored in files: web pages on remote web servers,
documents stored in local file systems, databases, simple
text files, Microsoft Word documents, HTML or PDF files, or
any other format from which you can extract textual
information.

SPEAKER:
Mark Ricard is a technical manager at RR Donnelley with over
12 years development experience at companies like General
Electric and Borland Software. Mark focuses primarily on
Java open source frameworks, including Spring, Hibernate,
and Struts. In his spare time, he and a group of friends are
starting a company called drop.com scheduled to go live in
May.

Hey guys,

I was planning on going to today's presentation but
we're having build issues so chances are I won't be
able to leave early today.

I'd appreciate it if someone could ask Mark Ricard his
recommendation on how to manage Lucene indices in a
clustered web application especially when using hot
updates and pre-built index deployment.

Regards,
