I've had a couple of questions about positions that will be
voted on and
responsibilities. Here is a list of the positions and what
each position
does:
President:
Places food orders, approves expenditures, approves emails
to lists,
contacts and communicates with companies and speakers,
should have the
ability to track down contacts and find "big
name" presenters, oversees
all CJUG operations such as meetings, lists, members,
financials, etc.
Vice President:
Approves expenditures, communicates with companies and
speakers, and
pretty much shares the work with the president for
overseeing CJUG
operations.
Treasurer:
Collects money at meetings, keeps track of membership and
bills for
overdue or missing membership, makes bank deposits, manages
PayPal
account, prepares end-of-year taxes, balances bank accounts
Secretary/Marketing/PR:
Sends out meeting reminders, updates website (if not done
by web
master), works with vendors to host displays at large
events, works with
companies to help find CJUG sponsors
WebMaster:
Manages website, ensures content is up-to-date, updates
content each
month, adds archives, sets up RSVPs for events and meetings
Event Coordinator:
Works with location hosting meetings (DePaul, BofA, etc),
helps plan
location for large events, ensures large events have the
necessary items
such as food, drinks, parking, etc.
The entire board help make pretty much every decision and we
interact
quite frequently to determine presenters and meeting
location. So, these
lists are not set in stone because everyone on the board at
some point
has done things on other positions lists. But these are
pretty
indicative of the responsibilities for each position.
Also, the just to remind everyone, the vote will be held via
a
YahooGroup poll and will occur next week (most likely). Any
other
questions, feel free to email me.
