SIGGRAPH BOF - failed

In the good old days, one scheduled a BOF session at
SIGGRAPH by writing the session name, location and time,
with a marker on a kiosk.

Now days, they are pre-planned and printed in the show
guide. 

Next year I will arrange a session and have it printed in
the show guide.

The Open Source booth was busy demonstrating packages such
as gimp, blender, inkscape, and others.  The degree of
confidence varied.  Sample questions such as, "How do
I remove red-eye?" stymied several volunteer gimp
operators.

Select the red bits and desaturate is probably the easiest
method and
so long as the red eye is only a small part of a larger
image usually
enough.

arrangements if that's
