Spotted a message from Witek Tarchalski about Guillotine in
the mail
archives and although this is a late response I hope I can
provide some
useful information

ive/forum.php?thread_id=9960160&forum_id=31999
The poster mentions Guillotine, a crude tool which uses the
image guides
to slice an images and create many new images. Guillotine
leaves the user
the tedious task of saving each newly created image
individually. I
wouldn't recommend it.
Rather than going through this process several scripts and
plugins were
created to slice and save the images in one go, and generate
a HTML page
with a table to contain the slices. The earliest was
Perlotine, there was
also a version written in Python (PySlice I think it was
called). Much
later I eventually also found a script-fu version called
webotine. I
believe other plugins existed for batch exporting the layers
of images
also exist which better suit the workflow of some designers
but I stuggle
to find them again. Possibly one of these could be adapted
to work with
Cinepaint.
Plug-In: perlotine

Hope that helps.
