Hi Simon,

This is a known issue. Cinepaint was removed from unstable
and testing
because the packaging was broken and the maintainer was MIA.
 I'm taking
over the package and, as soon as I get the building cleaned
up, will be
uploading 0.22-1-1, which is a major improvement. If you
can be patient
a few more weeks, you'll have an installable _and_ much
improved
cinepaint. In the meantime, if you are able, you can get
Ubuntu's
source package and build it on your local machine to get
some of the
improvements...

Regards,

Thanasis,
thanks for picking the CinePaint package up. We get many
requests and can
unfortunedly not packagee for all our users.
Hope you go well with printing support by Gutenprint and
with the
UFraw plug-in.

Andrew,
let me say, and I am pretty shure as well on behalf of many
CinePaint
developers and users,
many thanks for your work on the debian packages.

kind regards

Thanasis,

pinged by a user, I'd like to ask you, how are you coming
along with
dependencies and the plug-ins for a actual CinePaint Debian
version?

kind regards
