| CER upgrade doc? |

|

I've been on CCO and can't find any kind of an upgrade guide for CER.
Currently using CER 1.3.2 and would like to get upgraded to CER 2.0.x.
Does anyone know where I can find an upgrade guide?
Thanks

Umm... not sure about the doc, there are no install/upgrade
guides at
the doco site...
http://www.cisco.com/e
n/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps842/tsd_products_support_series_h
ome.html
Which is really sad... what is Cisco doing with their
website???
But.
Run the DMA for whatever version of CCM you are upgrading
to; then
pull the tiny tar file it creates off of the server and
upgrade during
install when you install CER 2.0
You want to upgrade to 2.0(3) after... 2.0(1) and 2 are
buggy...

Soon, Cisco is going to provide docs only to partners and
require you to
work with partners to install/upgrade their communications
systems.
Isn't that the norm in the telephony world? I mean, I can't
go out and
install my own Siemens switch can I?
I'm not saying it's good...but don't be surprised.

Is this wild speculation or do you know this for a fact?

wild speculation.
but i think the writing is on the wall. in the last few
upgrading webinars
(www.ciscoknowledgenetwork.com) they make reference to
upgrading documents
that quite specifically and systematically tell you what
things to prepare,
etc. the docs look pretty good. but they are only available
to partners.
why?
my other prediction is that they are going to eventually
remove stuff like
ccmuser pages and CAR and simply tell you to use SOAP/AXL to
build your own
interface and third party applications to process CDRs.
i think Cisco wants to keep it's partners happy.

Is this the 1st quatrain of Lelio Fulgenzi?.. spooky! The second one.. will be a prediction of when we can forward non-primary lines.
Scott, i've had the same troubles with CER documentation. Especially finding the right document that answers my questions.

Thanks Jonathan, but I still have some questions.
I'm not upgrading CCM. it is currently 5.1.3 with CER 1.3.2 as this was what was available at the time of install. Believe me I really tried to get CER 2.0 at time of install.
So I'm not doing a CCM upgrade so then how do I migrat to CER 2.0?
Thanks
