I took a quick look at it.  My guess is that you will need
that vlan
configured latter on. You will probably trunk VLAN 6 accross
SW1.  If you
don't have the vlan configured VLAN 6 traffic will be
dropped.

They will have a lot of labs like this.  It makes you look
at the big
picture.  You will often see they will ask you to add vlans
but not tell you
to add the vlan for the vlan interfaces already configured
on the switch. 
Example, you have "interface vlan 12" with ip
192.168.1.7 but no vlan 12
configured.  You then will have connectivity issues you must
troubleshoot,
add vlan 12 everything works.
