I was about to suggest that you use some truss-heads and
file the top a
bit.  I've seen cheese-head Torx screws a lot, but the head
sounds as if
it's way too thick.

As I mentioned, I've got a bunch of type-T screws that are
probably very
close, but they have the three "dimples" on the
top for drive.

Good that you found something would work.
