Clippings Problem

I have been running into a problem with Clippings on Firefox
v2.0.0.14.
I will frequently attempt to select a Clippings entry, only
for that
entry to not find its way to the text box into which I am
attempting to
place it. In all other respects, Clippings works just fine.
Where do I
begin troubleshooting?

Where are you selecting the clipping entry from - i.e., is
this being
done from the Clippings submenu on Firefox's context menu? 
Keep in
mind that you need to click on the text box to place the
cursor there
before right-clicking and choosing Clippings ->
<clipping name> to
pasting the desired clipping into that text box.

Is this problem reproducible on text boxes from different
web sites?
Are you able to paste text from the clipboard using the
Paste command
on the context menu (or Edit -> Paste from the browser
menu)?  If the
Paste command works, then pasting clippings should work,
too.

Also, is this problem happening consistently?  Or does it
work
sometimes - and if so, how frequently does it work or not
work?
