David,
What type of install did you select (Server, Multiserver,
J2EE)?
Did you just accept the defaults that the installer provided
for the
Apache file locations, or did you verify them?
Have you opened Activity Monitor in your
/Applications/Utilities
folder and verified that all of the processes that should be
running,
are?
(On my G5, 10.4.8, the process is named "cfmx7"
and is running under
my user account.)
Have you checked the system (not CF) logs, to see if the
java process
or Apache are throwing errors? You might also check the
Apache access
and error logs to see if there's any strangeness there.
I'm running 7.02 on this G5 with Apple's 1.5 JVM and Apache,
so there
must be something about your install or system that's
causing issues.
Your best bet would be to run the uninstaller and start
over, making
sure you verify the installer locations, Apache files
locations, and
check the installer log when it's done. You may also want to
repair
permissions on your main volume and check it with Disk
Utility just
to eliminate that possibility.
