I have a ticket open with New Atlanta because the BD7
installer just
quits on my MBP without doing anything so I have not been
able to
install BD7 for testing. They said they hadn't seen anything
like it
but haven't gotten back to me yet.

I have Railo annessto both running fine on my MBP (although
Smith
doesn't actually run any useful CF code if you're using
CFCs; Railo
can't run Transfer ORM but is otherwise pretty good).

And I should point out that I never got CFMX7 running on my
MBP either
- after several attempts at following the webmages guide -
but, as
folks who saw me present at cf.Objective() know, I have
Scorpio
running just fine (shameless plug - I'll be presenting the
AJAX
features of Scorpio at CFUNITED too).

NewAtlanta updated the installer about three weeks ago. Did
you try version
339a-MacIntel? I had no trouble with either installer,
though I am running
apache 2.2 and the first installer did not have the proper
servletexec
bundled with it. The new installer worked fine for me.
