Were using an mcf5282 processor on several of our boards.

It works great, but it's been out a while now, and I'm
wondering if there is a
newer "drop in" Coldfire version that's
superior.

Freescales putting so many versions out that it's a little
dizzying to keep
up.

Anyone have any opinions on this?

Most of the new parts are subsets of the 5282 features.
Which 5282 features could you do without?

I don't think there's any functionality we could afford to
lose at this point.
If it's the most flexible option then we'll just stay
where we are.

Hi,

We are using the 5280 for some app where we don't need
internal flash.
