Hi all, I want to expand a standard parallel port in
embedded system
such as coldfire or other. In a desktop PC, the parallel
port should be
got from a bridge chip (from PCI to Parallel, PS2 and so
on), and linux
distribution will support it, but in embedded system, how
can i get a
standard parallel port? I think:
1: Is there some chips bridge the parallel port from the
local bus of
coldfire system? If yes, does uClinux support those chips? i
find a
directory in /uclinux-dist/linux2.4/drivers/parport, this
should be the
driver of the parport, but how to implement it in hardware?
2: if no, should i use a cpld to implement the ECP protocol
and write
the driver of linux myself ?
Thanks a lot.
Best regards,
Wicky
