ColdFire 5208evb and Python?

Hello all:

 

I am building for the M5208EVB using LTIB (Linux 2.6.x), and
would like
to get a Python interpreter running on the file system.

 

I noted that there is a python package in the
ltib/dist/lfs-5.1
directory - I also note that I do not receive an option to
add this
package when I run ./ltib -configure and select packages.  

 

Does anyone have any experience with adding in non-default
packages,
Python in particular?  Any advice is greatly welcome.

Hi Demi,

You might try adapting the instructions at:

http://www.ailis.de/~k/docs/crosscompiling/python.php

to see if you have any success getting python to compile
and run before you try integrating it with LTIB.  If you
want to see what the ltib environment looks like you can
run ./ltib -m shell and that will put you in a ltib
environment.

If you are successful with that step the doc/LtibFaqPackages
has instructions for integrating it with the configure
system.
