twisted help for a java hack!

Guys,  irc.perl.org appears to be dead?

Anyway... having never run a python (let alone a twisted)
script
before, I´m struggling
to run the cometd-twisted demo (r79)

I think i have ubuntu all updated with all the bits required
(had to
upgrade setup.py
for simplejson install).  So I think I am on the required
bleeding edge
of versions.

"python cometd.py" does nothing.

"twistd -y cometd.py" does run a server on port
8080, but surfing to
http
://localhost:8080/tests/magnets/magnets.html  just gives
me a big
yellow
page, but no magnets. http://localhost:80
80/tests/gives me an
empty white page.

Both fail trying to load /dojo/dojo.js    which is not in
the svn repo.
 Nor if I add a dojo
directory in the obvious place, it does not get served?

Is there some mantra I need to perform to make twistd
magically serve
dojo/dojo.js ?

OK, I've got it to work.

I needed to create the filw cometd.txt to get rid of an
exception
then create some symlinks from tests/dojo to a recent dojo
checkout
finally I needed to create tests/FunWithDojo directory with
a symlink
to ../tests/dojofun

It looks to be not the very latest that Alex showed me
yesterday, so I
assume these issues
are just that the latest is not checked in?

anyway... it is enough for me to start replacing the python
with java.

Sorry 'bout that, my running demo has been a bit hacky and
I've been 
shuttling files between 2 places. Clearly I need to stop
doing that and 
clean up what's there.
