Yeah I though that too; I read some information somewhere
that recommended that verity collections should be
re-indexed regularly to maintain efficiency etc. Also, our
Intranet has been using Commonspot since the days it was
called Compass and we have found that over the years the
number of pages/documents listed in particular collection
don't always match the number of pages in the subsite(s)
that make up that collection. That was especially the case
just recently when we did a major cleanup of the site; where
we archived a lot of content by marking those pages as 'not
to be indexed' (in the page properties). It was only after
re-indexing that the collections contain the correct number
of pages.

My understanding is that if you select "Automatic
indexing (content
marked for indexing is automatically indexed when published
or during a
reindex operation)" under Subsite Properties/Search,
then you do not
need to manually reindex the collections (unless you change
the
collections assignments at some point).

Morning everyone,
We are running CS 4.6.2 on CFMX6.1 on Win2003.
I was just wondering if anyone had come across a way to
schedule the
re-indexing of commonspot collections; rather than manually
going to the
'Manage Verity Collections' page and re-indexing each
collection one by
one!?
