Required: Image processing toolbox (we used Alagad Image
Component...which
is really just an abstration layer for the JAI)
Algorithm:
-Use regular expressions to locate all <img> tags
-Parse <img> tags to capture ALT attributes to use as
text description
-Parse <img> tags to extract SRC value
-Cross-reference image URL and filename against
SITEPAGES/SUBSITES table to
locate physical location on disk
-Create thumbnails where appropriate using Alagad
-Output HTML and necessary JavaScript to drive the slideshow

Users often need to create photo galleries on their site--a
page of
thumbnails that click to open the large image. They can
create thumbnails,
upload thumbnails, upload the large version, and place
everything on their
pages but we're looking for something easier. We would
prefer an application
where the image is automatically cropped to the thumbnail
and the HTML pages
are created.
In the past, we've been able to do that with a Dreamweaver
plug-in, but
since we are now using Commonspot, I'm wondering if there is
an application
out there that will work with commonspot to do what we need.
Has anyone found (or even created) something that can be
used to speed up
the photo gallery process?
