I have a customer who wants shared calendar and contact.  I have tried to set up the MAPI connector for them but it frustratingly unworkable for them.  The mail server is not local, the size of the e-mails they have made it too slow, in addition the customer uses a blackberry and I have not been able to set it up properly, with the local Microsoft application data folder option, which increases the slowness.  They are a small workgroup so I figure just get some third party software for their Calendar and contacts sharing and put them back on imap.  Does anyone have a low prices tested suggestion for one of these products?

They are all windows machines, not more than 6 computers

Thanks in advance

You could, I'd surmise, try configuring the MAPI connector
and Outlook
correctly so that - like many IMAP clients, and indeed like
Outlook with
Exchange - they're not set to download the entire content of
every
message before displaying the folder list.

In Outlook:

Tools...
   Options...
     Mail Setup...
       Send/Receive...
Select appropriate Group Name (Probably 'All
Accounts')
         Click "Edit..."
           Change "Folder Options" to
"Download headers only".

Then OK your way back to the main Outlook pane and restart
Outlook.

It will probably speed up your usage no end - bearing in
mind that large
messages will still take time to download when they are
selected, in
exactly the same way as Exchange and Outlook do if there's a
bandwidth
restriction between them.

Unfortunately I can't answer the Blackberry question, but I
can offer a
bit of advice that if you create a local Outlook data file
and then
configure the account to deliver to that instead of the MAPI
cache,
you'd likely get your Blackberry singing... I'm no
Blackberry expert,
but I'd have a go at that if it were me.

Blackberry synchronization requires using an old version of
BlackBerry
Desktop. ActiveSync broke the code that RIM uses in the
desktop sync at
some point and have yet to fix it. Why this can't be
resolved, I have no
idea, but we've gone to strongly recommending using
windows-based PDA
phones since Stalker seems to be able to support them a bit
better.

You can probably get the older Blackberry Desktop software
from here:
