Selling training to the federal government

May 9, 2006

Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. (CompTIA headquarters)

What have you heard about the U.S. Department of Defense's "8570" mandate? 8570 requires all U.S. DoD IT personnel (and civilian IT contractors) to be certified. Literally, tens of thousands of IT workers need IT training as a result of this mandate! Follow this link for more information.

CompTIA realizes that many training companies (account executives, sales managers, GMs, etc.) need help knowing exactly how to work with the government to uncover these needs and take full advantage of this immediate opportunity in their region. These opportunities are all over the United States (and the world), not just in Washington D.C., but do you and your staff know that? How many thousands of dollars of training revenue are you missing out on by not knowing this information?

On Tuesday May 9, 2006, CompTIA is hosting a one-day class specifically tailored to technology training companies at its offices in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill. This class will help you and your staff sell training to the government. You will learn the following:

  • How government agencies operate
  • How they receive and spend money
  • What they care about
  • How to know when your territory is fully penetrated
  • How to work with the many partner types and what their business drivers are

The class will be delivered by CompTIA and immixGroup, an experienced government business consulting firm. CompTIA members can save $250 by registering by April 7, 2006.  Space is limited, so register today at http://www.comptia.org/govclass
