That is terrible news. It certainly is not you.

I would bet that if you investigated further, your
Anti-virus software
is non-functional. But if it is, and you have updated the
definitions recently, it might be able to assist you at this
point.
Some damage may be unrepairable, but let's see how far you
can get.
This may be time consuming. So you might consider just
plugging in
the RESTORE DISK and pick the WIPE HARD DRIVE CLEAN option.

If you want to attempt to recover for system and your
precious data,
you might start by REBOOTING the computer into SAFE MODE.
HOLD THE
POWER SWITCH for about 15 seconds and it should shut off.
You
should attempt this, instead of pulling the power cord.

During the start up sequence, you start with a black screen,
then you
see some text mode data, then finally you see the WINDOWS
startup
screen. To get into SAFE MODE, you want to HIT the F8 key
several
seconds after turning on the computer, but BEFORE you see
the WINDOWS
startup screen. If your timing is right, you should see an
option
menu that will allow you to pick SAFE MODE. Use the arrow
keys on
your keyboard to select the SAFE MODE option.

Once in safe mode, get your Antivirus to do a full scan.
If it seems
to be running, it will take about an hour. Select the
Quaranteen or
DELETE option to get rid of these problem(s).

If you have Malware, you may have to try a number of other
things.
Try rebooting into Normal mode again, and getting SpyBot
Search &
Destroy from Download.com This might identify and remove
other
problems.

If you are using Norton Antivirus, you should see the name
of the
virus that has infected your computer. You can research
more about
this at the Symantec.com website. They have removal tools
and other
instructions about your specific problem.

The best thing to do is to be more diligent about your
computer's
health. Prevention is the best medicine. So try to
learn all that
you can about these issues. Try my website at
www.KeepYourComputerAlive.com I am posting more PREVENTION
ideas at
my website, and yahoo group.

Good luck
