GO to start, Run In the “run Box type ‘cmd’ without quotes. Press enter
The computer will open a command window white letters on black background.
Type “ipconfig /all” again without the quotes.
You should see the following:

2 DNS server IP addresses
The Gateway address. DHCP enabled
Without all of the above no browsing will take place.

Thanks Pat, I will pass that info on also...but right now I am not
even sure anyone will listen to me. LOL
I am in a major meltdown right now. People commandeer my laptop to
practice on to figure out what is wrong, then my husband has an
attitude when I am not at his beck and call. I have had it with
everyone!
Oh. We are right in the same room with the router...I think that is
correct.
I told them about the ssid, and the dhcp...No one even said what that
is or if they would check it. I heard it mentioned one time while
someone was on the phone to a service tech.
I am on dial up and I am saying...I don't care if I ever get on Wifi!
LOL
I keep remembering that saying about no good deed goes unpunished.
Boy is that true.
And Still I say....Happy New Year! Susie

Thanks Ken,
I was watching yesterday as the guy was working on my computer and
I remembered seeing him do the cmd. I was trying to learn, but all I
could do was watch as he was on the phone through his computer.
I know he did a ping test that showed 4 going out and nothing
coming in. Of course, I don't know what that meant.
But thanks for that lesson. I will keep that information, and
someday it may make me look a little smarter! LOL
Well, I just decided to do it before sending this off and under DHCP
it says DHCP enabled.......NO. So, I am going to take a guess and
say that this is my problem.
Will give that info to them and see what they think.
