Wyatt -- when I first read this, I knew you guys would have
good suggestions like PC Anywhere but I also thought
"why not just teach her how to download and install
programs?" It is not really difficult and most adults
are teachable and once they learn things pride sets in and
with the knowledge that they can accomplish stuff they will
try to do more. Heck, maybe even someday I'll try to figure
out how to build a computer but I doubt it lol.

You could use something like PC Anywhere, but no, there is
no remote
administration in 98. That's not to say there aren't other
ways, but
it's not going to be a cake walk.

I agree totally. The problem is that some people will give up on
something if they try it once or twice and it either doesn't work or it
messes something up. There are still people out there who are just
certain that if they type the wrong thing their computer will start
spitting smoke and explode. <G>

I personally dislike remote assistance for a variety of reasons - most
having to do with security. I believe that XP remote assistance works
reasonably well, but to do anything 9x Windows should have a little
software help and some patience. I brought up PC Anywhere because it's
the only one I've used that I know works pretty reliably.
