I have not been following the board to closely I have been on vacation but when I plugged the usb back for my printer I had to reload the driver. I use vista basic and I have 1 gig of ram. I am very annoyed right now

But, you should be glad your printer still works!
For something that should have been "backward compatible",
a LOT of things are NOT working on VISTA....
web cams, printers, usb flash drives... lots !

Sigh! How quickly we forget! Same thing happened when Windows XP was
introduced. However, put the blame where it belongs. Drivers are written by
the hardware folks, not Microsoft.
