Thanks. It wanted permission given to "Services and Controller App".
There was no internet connection until I gave that permission.
BUT, Zone Alarm is now asking for permission for LSA Executable &
Server DLL (Export Version) to communicate with C:WINNTsystem
32svchost.exe -k netsvcs by opening its process. And it seems that
there is no internet without giving that permission.
I am new to Win2000 and cannot understand what's going on. Several
programs want server rights and internet access (Task Scheduler,
Services and Controller App, ?) and every program seems to want to use
another program to do things. I don't have a network, don't have
scheduled tasks and don't want anything "phoning home" that I don't
know about.
Can anyone fill me in as to what this LSASS.exe is and why it should
have bobbed up now, when it didn't before? TIA
