Windows XP Logon - How to log on to Windows XP if you forget your password or if your password expires. - If your password expires, or if you forget your password, you cannot log on to Microsoft Windows XP. This article contains several step-by-step methods that you can use to try to reset your password and log on to Windows XP. This article is intended for a beginning to intermediate computer user. If your password expires or if you forget your password, you can use a different user account to log on to Microsoft Windows XP. Alternatively, you can use a password reset disk to log on to Microsoft Windows XP. If you have forgotten the password for all user accounts, and if you did not create a password reset disk, you cannot log on to Windows XP. This is for security reasons. If this problem occurs, you must reinstall Windows XP. Then, you must reinstall all the programs. Applies to Microsoft Windows XP Home, XP Professional, XP Tablet PC, XP Media Center 2002, XP Professional for Itanium-based systems.
