cartridge ink solvent

Anybody know what is a thinner for ink cartridge ink?

I took apart a cartridge for my HP all-in-one and it looks like its prob got a plugged head.
I can`t afford 39.00 for a new one.

I do have a refill kit for it.

The best thing I know of is Windex (Windowlene in the UK). If you can
soak the head in a solution of windex this will dissolve the ink. The
time that this will take depends on the strength of the solution and
the thickness of the hardened ink. If you have distilled water this is
good for mixing the windex, but water from the ice that forms in
refrigators and freezers can be used, and quite frankly I cannot see
why tap water cannot be used.

The inks are usually water soluble. The usual fix for this sort of thing
is to soak it in a shallow dish of hot water, or soak a paper towel in
hot water and place the cart on top of it.
