need at least a preamp or an integrated amplifier. That will get you
enough signal strength to put signals on a "line in" to the sound
card. A phonograph usually has everything including a speaker or
speakers, but few have seperate "line out" jacks that you would need.

hard it would be to find a phonograph. Am I on the right track just
looking for a phonograph or do I need a fancy turntable? As you can
tell, I am out of my element with this subject. I hope once I get the
right equipment, I will be able to do it.
