I have been using Filzip for some years it is an excellent free
program. http://www.filzip.com/
However, with Windows xp you do not really need an additional program:
How Do I Unzip a File in Windows XP?
Double-click the zipped file.
In the window that opens, click Extract all files.
The Extraction Wizard opens.
Click Next.
In the Select a Destination panel, select the location where you want
the folder to be placed, for example, the Desktop. Click Next.
In the Extraction Complete panel, select Show extracted files. Check
Finish. The unzipped files appear in a new window.
To create a zipped file:
Beside zip file extraction, you may also create zipped files in
Windows XP. This is useful if you wish to compress a number of files
or folders into one file.
Select the files or folders you wish to compress into a zip file (to
select multiple files or folders, hold down the CTRL key while
clicking on the item you wish to select).
Right-click on any of the selected items and choose Send To: >
Compressed (zipped) Folder. A new zipped file should appear with the
name of the file you had right-clicked.
I have never used this feature of Windows XP as I like Filzip so much.
