John,

I had bought a few things off eBay before and sold a couple of things as well. I didn't do it for a while and had to start all over with a new ID..I've since only bought a few small items to build up my feedback in order to sell some things very soon. And I agree with you about the auction only starting at the very end. I will research whatever and know my price and my limits when bidding on something. NOTHING is something I can't live without.....

It was a scam anyway and I've reported it to eBay.

You don't say how new to Ebay you are - some sellers will flatly
refuse to deal with people with less than 10 feedback or who have the
'been a member for less than 30 days' icon at the side of their name

The majority of items on Ebay are won in the last minute.
