It was 7 Sep 2007, when satyrrell commented:
> amen customer service is almost extinct and if they do have service you
> talk to someone you can't understand. That is so embarrassing to have to
> say what I can't understand you.
The hell of it is, those few of us who still have these skills are stuck
in the handful of telemarketing jobs still in this country, and not yet
exported to Bangelore India. The company I work for has lost the guts to
fight for these jobs, since the clients are all about what they can get
for cheap -- and they get what they pay for, and they ain't gonna pay for
the likes of me.
So you want real customer service from knowledgeable people who speak
English as a first language, you're simply going to have to demand it, or
you'll never, ever get it.
It still happens, but it's vanishingly rare.
Or you could try one a them tech-support email lists I've heard about.
But how would you even find one of those? <grin>
