I have had a few negative instances with rebates.
One was on a memory strip. To this day, I will never buy memory from
the company, which has a popular, well-known name.
Another time, it was on a power supply for my tower. The rebate was
again, trivial, but it was annoying to never get a response from the
company, which seemed to only make power supplies. The store I
bought it from, also couldn't reach the manufacturer, and was
appalled. They offered to pay me the rebate out of their pocket.
