Re: checking open ports

I was talking to tech support for my isp today, and he tells me that I have 9000 open ports, I find this hard to believe, since I am running trend micro internet security 2007 and it reports that I am virus and malware free.
My question is, is there a site that can check my open ports? and how can I find out what is using these open ports?

Thanks

Open ports do not mean you have viruses or malware. It simply means you
don't have an adequate firewall running. Go to www.grc.com and do the
'shields up' test - it will show you what ports are open on your machine.
