Hi Norm,
Will the repair install delete any of my data or is it specific to the OS on the drive? I will make my drive a SLAVE and pull off all my data before I attempt any repair of the OS just in case my data gets deleted during the repair.

The repair does only that. Repairs the operating system. Just be sure
to carefully read any and all screens. Often times, computer
manufacturers (Gateway was notorious for this), will only include the
option of wiping the drive and re-installing from scratch.

If you have a genuine Windows XP CD, you should be fine. Backing up the
data is the best way to ensure nothing is lost in the transition.
