USB disconnect

Win XP Pro
Printer Xerox Multipurpose
Connection USB

Printer prints from computer.
Printer shutdown to repair paper movement problem.
Power printer up again and printer/computer refuse to communicate.
Reboot computer and still no communication.

Any ideas?

Check cables. Paper jam (or the repair) may have precipitated much more
catastrophic events. Try reinstalling the software and see if it finds
the printer.

I have to disable my anti virus (Kaspersky) in order to print on my laptop.
Somehow those two conflict. Whenever I disable
Kaspersky I can print with no problem. I need to change the settings in
Kaspersky but it's quicker to disable it temporarily. Try that and see if
it helps.
