Thank you for taking the time to advise me Ardell
Amazingly, I happened across the original Logitech packaging as
cleaned the basement today.
The folder says their is 1 more step I can try.. but I'm not sure how
to do this... or rather, I can't find IT.
The folder says:
After batteries correct, USB in, reset,
it says to use: the Logitech Device Reconnection Utility.
For:
Windows: Access the utility via Start/Programs/Logitech/Mouse and
Keyboard/Reconnection Utility
However, where is This?
I've clicked start, programs, & do not find this program..listed or
in subfolders of the listed programs.
also have looked in all the other programs, including acessories,
utilities, the Toshiba utilites, & also the Control Panel where you
find the keyboard mouse info etc.
Am I supposed to be typing a search for this? or search>run?
Am lost looking for the access to this little box they have pictured
on the instructions... supposedly I click & it restores the
connection.
Please help me thru the next step.. really can't afford to buy a new
mouse... hoping we can CPR this little guy.

Hi chris. If you are sure the batteries are being installed with the
proper polarity, there is not anything else you can do except replace
the mouse.
If you are going to send your laptop away to be repaired, your best
bet is to clone the whole drive, or at least do a backup of any docs
you don't want to lose.
I would normally recommend you take the hard drive
completely out, but since you have a sound problem it might be
related to the drivers, which are stored in the hard drive and they
will need it to be able to repair it.
But I have heard more than once of people
getting their laptops back only to find that the drive had been
formatted and a fresh copy of Windows had been installed, resulting
in a loss of ALL their data. Most shops are just looking for the
fastest way to solve the problem, and if a fresh install is it, that
is what they do.
It takes considerable time and effort to repair a corrupted
operating system properly while saving all the data and applications
already installed.Ardell Faul
