Printer would self print 'embedded' pages so at least that part was working.
Operator says, "don't worry about it. Our 'IT' guy knows what causes it. It
has happened several times before."
I called the next day and it sounded, from a 'less than knowledgeable'
operator, that a reload of the driver was required.
Why is what I was hoping figure out.
Thanks for the firewall idea. The catch here was the only thing that
transpired was a power down of the printer and disconnect of the USB logic
cable. Then a reconnect.

Check cables. Paper jam (or the repair) may have precipitated much more
catastrophic events. Try reinstalling the software and see if it finds
the printer.
