You decide through your stealth settings who sees when you are online.
How you can change these is to go to http://profiles.yahoo.com/your
id , and click under On Yahoo! the word "Messenger".
On the web page that appears you will see:

Stay in control...24/7
Decide who sees you online with stealth settings. Click on stealth
settings. The options allow you to select which of your friends can
see you online, or if you wish you can appear "Invisible to Everyone&quot;

I believe that you can only be seen by those on your contacts list, a
