Hi CJ,

I'm not familiar with Everex but Everex is sold at Best Buy, Circuit
City, Newegg.com, OfficeMax, Sams Club, TigerDirect.com, Wal-Mart &
Walmart.com. There are many StepNote T2080 models sold and the specs
vary greatly. The StepNote T2080 SA2053T model at Best Buy is OK as
it comes with Windows Vista Home Premium and 1 GB RAM, but the
StepNote VA2000T at Wal-Mart comes with Windows Vista Home Basic with
512 MB RAM. The Wal-Mart model is certainly undesirable as not
enough ram and has Vista Home Basic OS. Windows Vista Home Premium
is the equivalent of XP Media Edition, an upgraded version of XP
Professional, being very desirable while Vista Home Basic is worse
than XP Home.

Hi Gene,

Do I understand you right that XP Media is as good as XP Professional? I
first had XP Home but now have XP Media but I do not see a difference in the
two while I do notice the difference with the Professional version that I
use at work (government). Is XP Media more secure than XP Home?

I always found the different versions of XP confusing and even more so with
Vista. I guess that Vista Home Basic would be the OS to avoid?

Thanks,

Debbie
