Sigh, yeah, I have and they all suck! Big time! I have started refusing to
work on ECS boards because it can be impossible to source drivers and BIOS
updates for them. Their support is horrible.

Subject: [CHAD] Talk abouit a Cheezy motherboard---
I've been working on a generic tower with an AMD socket 462 CPU, made
by, as far as I can tell, ECS (AKA PcChips) Model M810D. It has
corrupted BIOS, and wouldn't read the hard drive. In fact, Spinrite let
me know the bios was corrupted. So I spent way too much time trying to
find the prroper .rom file to flash the bios with, but I could never get
it to work right. So now I am putting a new motherboard in the unit,
and when I got around to pulling the CPU from the old board to put in
the new one, I got a real surprise--There is no socket--the CPU is
soldered in place.!
I never saw this before on a tower motherboard. Wow.
