Position: Sr. Security Analyst
Location: Cleveland, Ohio, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2006-07-15
Seeking a Unix / Linux security Analyst responsible for
securing and improving the security and controls of the
company’s Unix / Linux systems, on line, and real
time applications. The Unix / Linux computing infrastructure
and associated applications are a significant part of our
risk base in applications. Understanding these technologies
is critical to succeeding in this position. The efforts to
inject secure operations and programming practices and
design will be part of the Company’s overall IT
security strategy and mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Become a security resource for the Company’s
application development teams:
- Analyze complex information security issues
- Assist in developing architecture for enterprise-wide
security technology
- Assist in high-level integration of application
development with information security policies and
strategies
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging industry and
technology standards
-Provide security administrative / programming techniques
for developers and systems engineers.
-Understand and apply the security components of the Unix /
Linux operating systems and development architecture and
overall industry security standards, best practices, and
security concepts.
-Understand and apply sound security programming practices
for TCP/IP based programs, sockets programs, and network
programming.
-Review security designs and impact on new Unix / Linux
products, operating systems, and software implementations.
-Use the Company’s Software Development Methodology
(SDM) when assisting applications development projects.
Extend and annotate the SDM to bring security goals into
better focus and identify high risk applications.
-Take ownership of any secure programming systems, software,
and standards that you develop and deploy.
-Assist the IT security team in developing the security
architecture and deliverables.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in an Information
Technology discipline
- 5 to 8 years experience in the information technology
field, including at least 5 years specialization in
information security.
- Demonstrated competence in a variety of IT concepts,
practices and procedures.
- Experience with configuring and maintaining business
critical information security technology.
-Knowledge of common client server Unix / Linux system and
programming vulnerabilities.
-Extensive knowledge of the Unix / Linux platforms.
-Knowledge of networks (TCP/IP).
-Experience in programming (C, C++).
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PLUSES:
- Certification in information security – CISSP
- Sarbanes-Oxley and ISO/IEC 17799 compliance preferred.
