Job Title: Legal & Regulatory Consultant

Our client now wishes to appoint a Consultant to assist the
Legal and Regulatory Services Team to propose for and
deliver legal and regulatory compliance-based information
security consultancy and training services which will
include consultancy and training on compliance with: The
Data Protection Act 1998 and Codes of Practice; The Freedom
of Information Act 2000; ISO/IEC17799 and ISO/IEC27001; The
Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must have a visa to be able to work within the UK.

Take responsibility for leads and enquiries assigned to you
by the company’s Head of Legal and Regulatory
Services and convert these into demonstrable proposal
opportunities.

Produce proposals to meet customer’s requirements
for legal and regulatory compliance-based information
security consultancy and training services.

Deliver high quality consultancy and training services to
time and budget, meeting customer and internal requirements.

Identify and assist with crossselling opportunities for the
company & their sister group of companies extensive
portfolio of services.

Assist in the definition and development of
company’s Legal and Regulatory Compliance based
services.

Maintain an up to date knowledge of current changes in and
impacts of information security related legislation and
regulations.

At least 2 years experience in a consultancy or contracting
role delivering legal and regulatory compliance-based
information security consulting.

A practical and demonstrable knowledge and understanding of
current information security legislation and regulations and
how these affect different customer environments.  

This must include as a minimum:
Data Protection Act 1998 plus Codes of Practice
Freedom of Information Act 2000

A sound level of knowledge of ISO/IEC 17799 and ISO/IEC27001

Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000

Desirable knowledge of related Information Security
legislation.

Experience of at least 1 sector out of the Financial Sector,
Government / Military / Local Authorities, Health,
Manufacturing or IT.

Delivery of training in their chosen discipline(s).

Be capable of adopting a structured approach to solving
problems and to prioritise work.

Knowledge of the Manual of Protective Security and the
Government Protective Marking Scheme would be advantageous.
