  VeriSign's Kontiki Delivery Management System is the
leading solution for secure, efficient streaming and
delivery of rich media such as high-quality video.
VeriSign's Kontiki DMS is used by leading media companies
such as AOL, BBC, and SkyTV for fast, user-friendly,
reliable delivery of DVD-quality video over the Internet to
consumers and by leading enterprises such as Ernst &
Young for sales, marketing, corporate communications, and
training. 


 

VeriSign Broadband Content Services has an opening for an
experienced Senior Software Development Engineer to help
drive the evolution of the Kontiki DMS and its continued
growth in secure content caching, streaming, and delivery on
the Internet.

 

The Senior Software Development Engineer is responsible for
working on Verisign's Kontiki distributed networking
technology (Linux/Windows) and media client (Windows/Mac).
Distributed networking technology work includes network
protocol design and implementation, LAN activity detection,
Windows client-side virtual file system, and network-based
live streaming support. The media client provides a
front-end to the user and includes design/development for
both Windows and Mac platform.

 

Experience: 

The ideal candidate will have: 

7+ years of industry experience in developing and shipping
commercial software written in C/C++.   
System level programming experience required (like kernel,
networking operations, file operations, multi-threaded
synchronization, etc.).  
Experience with memory-leak, performance tuning, optimizing
memory or speed a plus.
Experience with Mac and Linux operating systems is a plus. 
Experience with and an inclination to work in Java if
necessary. 
Good problem solving skills and curiosity to take on new
ideas.
Proven ability to work as part of a team of engineers. 
Excellent written and oral communication skills
